She told police that Khan had been following her for several days. He was mounting pressure on her to marry him. However, her marriage was already fixed with someone else and the wedding is scheduled for April 28.
"The accused abducted her recently and locked her up in a room, where he also made an MMS clip of hers to blackmail her. He was mounting pressure on her to cancel her engagement with the other person and marry him instead. He threatened to circulate the MMS if she refused to marry him," a senior police officer said, adding that the accused had also threatened to pour acid on her.
Police came to know that the accused, who was doing part-time jobs, was already married. The woman narrated the incident to her family members, who in turn filed a police complaint.
The case was brought to the knowledge of Gautam Budh Nagar acting senior superintendent of police Abhishek Yadav. Acting on the complaint, Yadav formed a team of plainclothes officers and laid a trap for the suspect on Monday.
Police asked the woman to call the suspect and ask him to meet her near LG roundabout in Greater Noida. Khan reached LG roundabout in the afternoon to meet her and was nabbed by the plainclothes officers, who took him to Surajpur police station. During interrogation, Khan admitted his crime.
